about

Great time doing this. Deadline liberation - let it go and move on it's all water to the wheel.

Equipment: laptop running Audacity, field recorder, C1000 mic, Dr sampler, some instruments - no keys tho', the voice and inspiration of Jo Herrons on a couple of things.

Process: to go with whatever appeared/emerged until time was filled.

Weirdos - built around an early 1 mic improvisation, treated and added to. Very "wonder what's gonna happen?"

Turning in - tuning out of life and into existence as wood, wire and strings.

Blocked by stars - a 1 mic improvisation looking fwd to the end of time and
space!

Rattler - part spook, part folk tale, part phone call.

Antipodean Fighting Song - started as the French fighting song then the boys from the Octoberets freedom singers (reformed scallywags, mercenaries and murderers to a man) took over.

Arc Eye - Sparky.

Jassbeans - musicians lost and alone in nowhere to go

Elvis Retorts - using a spectacularly erudite conversation between Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra as a starting point, here rendered with about the worst text to speech app available, a strangely positive piece emerges.

Water in your Field - feeding and watering oneself well on every level in Latin.

Watching Water - a single mic improvisation with the wonderfully voiced Jo
Herron singing like life and saying what she sees.

Oktobersong - the very first iPhone improvisation early morning OCT 1st. Here for posterity and another thing I didn't get around to developing.

about

ezifreak England, UK

Ezifreak is the moniker used by Monkiboy for developing One Month Albums, experiments and projects. It is also now, somewhat confusingly, a live act duo that places some of these ludicrous sketches on the stage. Disco beats, dirty bass, diatribe and brouhaha to the fore. ... more
